From the Science Front -

Truth - Scientists don't know what they are talking about. Really.

I'm not old enough yet to forget my early years of school and I remember my science teacher telling us about the dinosaurs and how there was a mass extinction cause by an asteroid. That was the going theory. Then over the years more and more supposed evidence pointed to that theory and it pretty much was accepted as the truth. Ok makes sense and there are still large impact craters on the planet that point to the plausibility of it.

Recently though it seems there has been a shift. I've heard that there was a massive CO2 release from the ocean that lit the atmosphere on fire and caused the extinction. Then there is the  massive CO2 release that accelerated the greenhouse effect which in turn triggered the ice age which caused the dinosaurs to die off. Oh then there is the one about many smaller meteor impacts that threw dust into the atmosphere and triggered volcanic activity that in the end caused them to die and the ice age. Now I'm hearing that it was "monumental volcanic activity" that caused the extinction.

Admit it. YOU HAVE NO CLUE!!! Evidence for all of these theories are based on statistical data. Sure chemical composition of material at different depths is taken into account but you have to remember that statistical data can be manipulated to show what you want it to show without disrupting the original data. We don't even know for sure what the depths of our plant are like.

Who's to say that 65 million years ago the Earth had a naturally high amount or iridium (supposed evidence of an asteroid impact). Or maybe that iridium wasn't from an asteroid and actually is from the depths of our planet from the volcanic eruptions. Or maybe there is some unknown species of life that iridium was a waste product. Or we can really stretch for it and say some alien race seeded the planet with the stuff kind of like an industrial waste dump.

Let's talk about the "Weight of the Universe." Yeah so now it's supposedly 20% lighter than it was two days ago. And that matters why? First they are basing the weight of the Universe on statistics. There we go again with that dirty 10 letter word. They have all these calculations that I won't pretend to understand. They have this idea that they know what every star, black hole (massive weights according to them but if it sucks everything in does it really have a weight? Not to mention it is floating in space so is it really heavy? I know they are talking about mass not weight.), galaxy, star cluster and the list goes on, weighs. So they say the Universe should have X amount of mass. Things didn't compute so they invented Dark Matter. Do you think my bank would let me invent Dark Money to make up for the short fall?

Now they are saying that the Universe weighs less than they thought. Ok did they account for all the planets out there? After all not too long ago they finally admitted that there were other planets in the Universe because they detected one. Scientists remind me of the Church from our distant past. They are morons. Anyway they are discovering new planets of different types and sizes and makeup seemingly every day. Did they account for that?

But let me get back to something - The "Weight of the Universe" matters why? Is it going to change my life? Am I going to have to go to a support group because the Universe gained a few bazzilion pounds? Is it going to change the price of gas? How about milk? No it won't. It will make my pocket lighter though. After all they spent several million dollars in grant money (paid for by you and me with our taxes) doing this study for what reason? Just to know.

The problem is they keep spending money and are clueless.
