Two weeks prior to President Obama’s trip an advance team is sent to
Now the WHO and CDC have indicated the first reported case of Swine Flu was on or about April 13th. Incubation for Swine Flu is 24 to 48 hours but could be slightly longer depending on the health of the person when initially infected.
So why is this a conspiracy and not a coincidence? There has been a heated battle in this country about securing the border with
The other side of the coin is saying that we need to do it to help the American people get work especially in this economic crisis the country is going through.
So how does a President handle the situation? How does a President or group of Congressmen garner support and money to actually close the border? And how do you get people to funnel billions into health care?
So here is the timeline. Advance team goes to
Now the WHO and CDC are indicating this is going to move into pandemic status now that it has been showing up in the US courtesy of business people (NAFTA) and college spring break. Even European nations are indicating that they are going to recommend people not travel to the
That’s where we stand today. So what does the future hold?

President Obama will swoop in as a hero in about a month with a cure for the virus. The cure was tested today as Air Force One flew over NYC for a “photo op”. Remember aerial dispersal of the original virus in
In the mean time he will be on the TV stating we need to increase spending in health care. “We were lucky. This was a flu. Next time it could be something more like Small Pox or some other disease that was once thought eradicated. We also need to be able to help those that are currently suffering from the flu that do not have health insurance.”
So with a simple virus, limited deaths and on sweep of his arm he has become a hero of the pandemic and has managed to secure the
I'm posting this here even though it will be showing up shortly at EzineArticles.com because, well I can because it's mine and it sounds so good.
How many times has this happened to you? Your nightly writing time comes along and you begrudgingly sit down at the computer or with your notebook or journal to write. You are feeling that it’s going to be one of those nights that you have to struggle to get the words on paper because, it’s just one of those nights.
You go back and read a little of what you wrote before to get the juices going and to brush off the events of the day. You cock your head as you look at the period at the end of the last sentence and pause for a few seconds. Cautiously you begin to write. One sentence, then two, then three, then more and more; a paragraph, then two, then three and before you know it you are on to the next page. The words are just flying out of you.
Your Muse has decided to show their face and let the story flow from you. Your characters really speak to you and help you on your way. Suddenly you feel disconnected from yourself as the words just appear on the screen or paper. Your characters are writing the story for you. They talk, they interact and everything is just there. An hour goes by, then two and the next thing you know its 3:37am and you have to be to work in two hours. You sit back and read what you’ve written and realize there are parts that you don’t remember writing. You are excited about your next writing time. For now you have to set it aside because life calls you away.
Ah. You were in the zone. Your personal critics pushed to the side and your creativity was flowing. You get home from work. You are tired but excited for your writing time. Some scenes for your book played in your head all day. You even managed to write some sentences down so you wouldn’t forget. You sit down and read some of what you wrote the night before. You cock your head as you look at the period at the end of the last sentence and pause for a few seconds. Cautiously you begin to write. One word. You stare at that one word for a minute, then two, then three and before you know it 15 minutes have passed. Where is my Muse you wonder. My characters have gone off to another book you say to yourself as you look at that solitary word.
So, you sit back in your chair. You know the major things that are going to happen and you even know how it is going to end. You have labored to write from one major incident to the next, from the first word in the book to the next, sticking to your plot line. You know you need to follow it to get to the end. Tonight you are lost. Where should they go? What should happen next? You know what is going to happen later in the book but you can’t write it until you get there. WRONG!
When you get stuck somewhere and labor to get the words out SKIP AHEAD! Write another scene later in the book. Write a scene that you jotted down notes about. Heck, write a scene that doesn’t even belong in the book. Put your characters in a big vat of jell-o or peanut butter or some other bizarre place and let them go have some fun. First, you are writing something. Secondly, if you do it with your characters you might find some trait or some part of them that will help you move your real story along.
If you want to beat writer’s block don’t beat your head against it. Go around it. No one ever said you had to write your book in sequence. Write a scene that you want to put in later. I can’t begin to tell you how many scenes I have written that are tucked away because I’m not there yet. Some I wrote with the intent to use but the story went a different way or progressed and they weren’t really needed. The point is you need to write something when you hit that block. Write something different or fun. You never know when your Muse might decide to come out again.
There is very little I want out of life. I like to keep things simple. Life is easier that way. I really feel that I am no different than any of you no matter what you say or think. So what do I want out of life? Sure the usual – enough money to live comfortably and not worry about how I’m going to put gas in the car next week, healthy and happy kids, world peace, be happy with and enjoy my job and the other usually things. But what really matters to keep your life simple and meaningful?
Love and companionship for one; It’s not rocket science. We all want to have love. We want to love and be loved completely. We want to treat someone like we want to be treated. Put the other person ahead of ourselves, have loving touches often, make love to that person giving to them completely, cuddle, snuggle, kiss, hold hands, backrubs for no reason, appreciate and be appreciated for everything we do no matter how simple, a thank you or acknowledgement for things, meaningful conversations, unencumbered openness, do little things just because. It really is that simple, BUT we want it returned as well. It can’t be a one-way street. We die inside when it is. Relationships end or have issues because one person forgets. They enjoy getting the attention and the little things and forget that the other person likes to receive the same thing. Save your relationship and take time to really look at what the other does for you and what you do for them. Are you taking more than you are giving?
Happiness is another thing that keeps life simple. Be happy with what you have no matter how little you think it is. Happiness isn’t based in money or material things. Sure I’ll agree that money certainly makes things easier but it’s not the end all beat all. Talk to the richest people in the world and they will tell you that money isn’t everything. I think most people, like me, just want enough to live comfortably and not have to worry about how you are putting gas in the car next week or how you are going to buy food for the table or keep your lights on. Just be comfortable. In reality though you can be at the bottom and still be happy. I’ve been there and even though I was struggling financially I was still happy with what I had. I knew it could be worse.
Happiness is far beyond money. Think about the breath you take every few seconds. Think about that beating heart in your chest. By happy you are alive. This is an amazing world and there is so much you can be happy and thankful for. Be happy with the life that you have and everything around you. The sun, birds, trees, grass, other people, all of it. We were given a gift – the world. There is so much out there and no matter how bad you think things are for you there is so much that is good. You are alive, you have family, you have friends. You have talents and skills - use them. Do you like to write, draw, paint, play music, sing, fix cars? They are all gifts. They can take you away from things and clear your mind and make you happy. Makes it easier dealing with the bad things in your life. Use them you won't regret it.
So think about it. These are the truths of what we need in our lives to keep things simple – love and happiness. If you have them life is good. Nothing else really matters and is just fodder. Sure they can be hard to find some times but you can find them if you look around and inside.
I thought I would sit down and make a plan for my future. Make a goal to reach one of my dreams within one year.
First I thought, "you know I could write that I am going to be published in the next year. Not a best seller but published and map out all the steps I am going to take to get there."
So I started writing down that I would go to bed earlier and get up earlier so I could write for 2 or 3 hours before life kicked in and took all my time. Then I would get my book finished – first draft – in the next 2 months. Then I would edit, revise, re-read, edit, yada yada yada (no I’m not a Seinfeld fan) and have it ready to roll out with all the letters and what not by the end of 8 months and start peddling it to the agents.
I am going to accomplish a dream that I have had since I was in 5th grade – Get my ride into space. Getting there is actually easier now since Tito made the first trip and others have done it but still a challenge.
Here are my steps:
1) Raise the money. The world operates on money so why shouldn’t space? Collect bottles and cans (we have bottle deposits in NY), mow lawns, work over time, sell some stuff on eBay, beg borrow and plead with everyone I know.
2) Learn Russian so I am fluent.
3) Get on The Amazing Race – and win so I have an influx of money. The draw back is that after the show I wouldn't have a job anymore so I would have to find another job but it's ok.
4) Contact the US Government and get the appropriate authorizations. Probably have to work through my Senator (I really don’t like Clinton but it’s a necessary evil). She probably has some contacts though seeing she ran the country for a while and she's throwing her hat in for the next elections. Might be a good campaign hook for her. “See what I did for the little people?”
5) Make arrangements with the Russian Government to get to the Balkinor Cosmodrome.
6) Begin my training on an accelerated training schedule to make it before the end of the year and most certainly complete it.
7) Hop the next Soyuz ship to the ISS.
Enjoy myself immensely while I am there.
Can someone explain this to me because I think maybe I am missing something? A category 5 hurricane is steaming its way towards you. The police, fire department, local government, TV, radio, and newspaper all letting you know there is a mandatory evacuation order. You need to leave your home and head inland.
Did the meaning of MANDATORY change recently and I missed the announcement? What part of mandatory is misunderstood? Last I knew if a mandatory anything is issued it means you don’t have a choice. You do it.
So some people decide they are going to ignore the mandatory evacuation order and stay with their homes. They know the water is coming. Everyone around them knew it too that is why they left. The storm hits and the water rises and rises. Now these people that didn’t want to obey the order are stranded. They go to the second floor of the house and the water keeps coming.
So they panic and grab their trusty cell phone and hope it still works. They call 911 and cry for rescue. Hello? Are you morons? You were told to leave and that it wasn’t safe. Now at least 4 people have to risk their lives to come rescue you because you thought you knew more than everyone else. Someone that is really in trouble could loose their life because you were an idiot or worse yet one of your rescuers could loose their life trying to save your sorry ass.
Sorry if I seem a little crass on this issue. It really pisses me off when people do stupid things like this. Mandatory evacuation orders are just that – MANDATORY. That means you pack up what you can, move stuff to the second floor if you can, secure your home and LEAVE. Is that couch you just bought really worth more than yours or someone else’s life? Is that big screen TV really worth that much? Things can be replaced; Lives can’t.
Personally I think that if there is a mandatory order to evacuate and you choose to ignore it you should be left on your own. Everyone told you, you had plenty of time and you chose to ignore it. So sorry; wait for the water to go down and then you can drive out. Oh wait, you were a moron and your car is in the garage under six feet of water. I don’t feel sorry for you one bit.
